24 Social Housing Apartments +info
Two housing blocks, of a project of three, were built on Francesc Macià Avenue, defining its western facade and overlooking the Monastery of Sant Cugat.
In the three apartment typologies common to the blocks, the living areas and bedrooms are given priority and have views to the monastery, whilst the service areas are interior or open to the side facades.
All typologies have a gallery that can be incorporated into master bedrooms, secondary bedrooms or living rooms. The gallary also acts as a west-facing passive thermal regulator that captures heat in winter and offers natural ventilation in summer.
Balconies run along the main facade with fixed and mobile louvre panels for thermal and sun control, and also for privacy.
Sustainable systems were incorporated into the project such as solar energy for heating water and greywater recycling circuit for saving water, as well as passive systems such as cross-ventilation and the galleries with mobile panels that guarantee solar control in summer and winter.
