12 One-family Houses in a Residential Area – Residential

Twelve one-family houses in a residential area in Sant Cugat del Vallès.
Five brown brick houses are built along the principal street. Each brown house is a single, two-storey volume with a closed facade along the street where the main entrance is placed. The houses are organized in three bays- parallel to the street- of increasing privacy the further away they are from the street. The first strip contains the reception and circulation spaces, the second houses all service spaces, the breakfast room and the lift, kitchen, and the third strip houses the living and dining room on the ground floor and the bedrooms on the first floor with their balconies overlooking the garden.

The five brown houses form a backdrop to the seven white brick houses placed along the lower part of the site. While the facades of the brown houses are arranged along the street, the long facades of the white houses are placed perpendicularly to the secondary street allowing for an optimal orientation of the gardens and long, uninterrupted views towards Collserola Natural Park.
The seven white houses have seven different typologies.
